'Hortense I' SPECIAL GILDED Original Hand Finished Serigraph Silk Screen Print 9/25
"Hortense I" (after Jacob Ferdinand Voet c.1675)
Print number: 9/25 V.E.
Special Edition: Gilded with palladium leaf, a beautiful warm silvery colour which doesn’t tarnish as silver leaf can.
10-12 Colour original serigraph silk screen print. Hand painted finishing.
Variable Limited Edition of 25 prints - common elements, each unique in colour and positioning from other prints in the edition.
On Somerset Velvet 100% cotton 300gsm mould-made, acid-free, archival quality paper. Watermarked. Size 38 x 57 cm, 4 deckle (ragged) edges.
Flora elements all entirely created by collecting and hand pressing of seasonal British plants both from the woods and the gardens. These then exposed to silk screens and multi-layered individually freehand, using 10-12 colours. Hand painted finishing.
These artworks are entirely made by the artist's own hand and incorporate a multitude of individual complex processes, so please embrace any marks or inconsistencies in the prints; these show life in the making, and contribute to what makes each one unique.
Artwork will be sent carefully rolled in glassine paper, inside a sturdy cardboard tube via Special Delivery. On arrival please extract from tube carefully and allow artwork to relax flat.
Artwork shown framed with a mount (with aperture 37 cm x 53 cm which hides the edges). Against colour inspired by Farrow & Ball ‘Red Earth’. This print could also be framed professionally in a 'floating' manner, to enjoy the beautiful raw deckle edges of the paper and reveal a little more of the artwork.
Please note: artist name watermark on website image only, not on actual print.
